Hello,
I haven't had the privledge of attending a cup yet or even a match for that matter, but i hope to soon. However, around here we have a very generous gentleman who puts on a sniper week for a bunch of our local guys. Im the new guy and last year was my first year seeing it. Sadly the guy who has been doing all the work with planning and set up all these years is getting burnt out and is asking for help coming up with stages. This is where im asking you all for your help. I have no experience and have no clue what kind of things to come up with. If someone would be willing to pm me and give me as much help with ideas or links as they can id appreciate it. We have an excellnt area and all types of stages are feaseable. Im just lacking knowledge, experience and imagination. Thank you in advance to anyone that wants to help. Im going to post this in another section or as well to get more looks. Hope thats ok.

torso size 16"x18" would work, stick an 8" head on top. give a risk / reward in points of more points for a head shot vs. torso. this is very popular with my shooters:

simple ziplock bags with flour in them make a nice poof when hit.

flapper / hostage type targets seen alot here on the hide are pretty nifty.

a few targets that are MOA for the distance shot to walk the walk, or a know your limits type of thing.

some other target sizes similar to paper target scoring rings (click to open):View attachment steel target sizes vs paper target bulls & animals.pdf

Here are a few fun stages:

Somali Pirate Shot - Most ranges have a structure covering their firing line. Using that structure, suspend a picnic table from the rafters. Then put shooters on the table (which of course is quite unstable) and ask them to engage targets. This kind of simulates the shot that the SEALs took at the Somali pirates from the fan tail of a navy ship.

Timed Exposures - Set up your targets across the range and assign a number to each target. Then set up three or four shooting positions and a hinged screen in front of each of them so they cannot see the range. Then at random, open a screen in front of a shooter. As the screen opens, randomly give the shooter two target numbers. They have fifteen seconds to engage each target before the screen comes back down.
