I was recently checking out my new BCG and noticed it has some pretty rough machining marks.. cosmetics do not typically bother me, especially on something you don’t normally see but it’s so noticeable I wanted to get some other opinions on whether it’s anything I should be concerned with or just forget about it.

Is it machined smooth where it actually makes contact with the upper? If so, it’s fine.

Sell it and move on to a company that does finish machining that meets your expectation. You’re obviously not happy with the product and I doubt LMT is going to replace it. I doubt you’ll lose any money unless you paid gunjoker prices.

It is smooth for the most part where it touches the upper. I was originally thinking the carrier would touch the upper where it is very rough, but it does not. That was actually my main concern, I should of checked prior to making the post here.

And I have no intention of selling my LMT stuff. I think you misunderstood my post. I am happy 😃

Looks smooth where it matters, I would forget about it and be happy that LMT is finally getting parts back out to the public. I imagine at this point in time LMT is just trying to get product out the door and get caught up with back logs. So programs and machining operations get sped up, tool life gets pushed to the limits and QC gets pushed aside with non-critical features. It's the nature of the beast. I just recently bought an LMT BCG as well, I was so happy I got it at msrp that all I checked was fit and function in the upper when it arrived.

I wasn’t being a dick. Some people get hung up on things like that and are never happy with a rifle. Glad you aren’t one of them. 👍🏻
