Howdy:

What's the poop on screw on cans with OEM threads on the MWS.

What can are you using?

Are you just using a thread protector when the can is off?

Did you have the threads adjusted to index the can, or did you just slap the can on and go with it as is, or use crush washers to help index.

Is the setup reliable or does it cause problems with the brass being beat up?

Thanks,

Conrad

Re: LMT MWS and screw-on can

Get a TBAC 30-BA.... I run it on my LMT MWS and it functions great (sounds great too... subs are extremely quite).

Re: LMT MWS and screw-on can

You can get a VAIS muzzle brake. It is a radial brake that doesn't require timing. If you contact VAIS directly, they will even cut one to your barrel's exact outer diameter and provide you with a nifty tool that allows you to take the brake off without damaging it.

My brake doubles as both my thread protector and more pleasurable shooting device.

The switch between the brake and the suppressor (or even just a simple thread protector and suppressor) will have a change in POI. I just memorize it and mark it down on the turret of my rifle scope.

Re: LMT MWS and screw-on can

I am using a Tigershark on my MWS and it works great. Didn't see a need to reinstall a muzzle device for the times it is off so I picked up a cheap thread protector at Midway.

Also went with a PRS stock and the rifle was a little harsher than stock, so picked up a Heavy Buffer and spring and now is a soft shooter again. While I haven't put a bunch of rounds through it, runs great with suppressor or without.

Re: LMT MWS and screw-on can

Think I'll pull the A2 FH off & stick my Elite Iron (bravo) can on just to see what happens. Its a fairly heavy can but very effective in terms of noise and blast.

Not going to be too good for shoot & scoot (or a tree stand), but may be just the ticket on a prarie dog town.
