LMT MWS Bolt Carriers?

Saw this brought up on another thread. Anyone have more info on different bolt carriers on the MWS?

The new style carrier is similar to Armalite's Gen 4 AR-10 carrier in that it has a V-groove on the bottom as opposed to the flat bottomed carrier used in models prior. I believe the finish is different as well, and there may be yet another change or two I cannot recall.

I read the thread. I guess what I was wondering was why did they change it. The same thread says that the old ones are "junk" and the newer ones "work". Does anyone know what doesn't work about the "old" style or when they changed them?

Id say who ever wrote that is wrong because the lmt models after the KAC not armalite.

I do know the new carrier has a different coating.

The Bushmaster, known as BAR308, had the grooves. Just an FYI.

They're using a different finish/coating for one thing instead of hard chrome, the hammer groove in the carrier is wider to supposedly accept aftermarket triggers which for me doesnt mean shit, a Wilson TTU works just fine. there are pics on M4 carbine showing all the differences FYI

I thought it was beacuse the old carrier had to much drag on rounds in the mag....
