Loadbase Ballistic Program - SH inspired Updates

Patagonia Ballistics, the makers of Loadbase Loadbase is about to issue a mobile update to their software based on some Sniper's Hide inspired recommendations.

Loadbase is a very robust Ballistic Program and Gus the creator is very open to suggestions. He constantly updates the library and the software, issuing a free update almost every month since i have been using Loadbase.

When Sniper's Hide was asked about how to make the program more user friendly for the Tactical Shooter, Gus stepped up and made some key changes to bring the solution closer to the front, which was great. But also based on some feedback he is added two new tactical shooter features.

Limited Aperture Shooting Module (LAS)
Is what we refer to as loophole shooting so the user can plug in the target range, aperture size and get an answer as to whether or not the shot will clear, also giving you the first crossing distance.

Real user friendly stuff to take the mystique away from this misunderstood concept.

Next he added a GPS / Targeting module which using that for a firing solution.

This will be very big with the ELR guys to use.

So if you have LB3 you can expect the updates to cross your inbox very soon.

Frank these are same GREAT new additions. Gus has always been good about new updates and sending them. I will be looking for this.

Great. Now I'm going to have to upgrade the PDA to keep up with the program.

The last update was about all she could handle

Sounds good. Currently I use a Blackberry, so to use this it looks like I would need a PDA running Windows Mobile.

Does the load data section offer things like different C.O.A.L. and powder fill ratios? Or is it just a straight library of suggested loads?

This is not internal ballistics like QuickLOAD. External ballistics only but you can change all the variables that can be compensated for the moment it leaves the muzzle.

I gave Gus all of my .50BMG and .50DTC data I have collected over the years and he put it all in an update a year or so ago. He is really on top of his updates.

I would agree, and have thought this for a while now...

Anyone from Patagonia Ballistics reading this thread and can shed any light on upcoming iPhone (or iPad) plans?

By far my favorite ballistic program bar none!!

Team Blaster was the first using this program and I have had nothing but great service with Gus from Patagonia.

Gus has worked with us from the begining and as Lowlight ahs said has been very accomidating to what we as shooters need and want in this program.

I have my update in and enjoy the great new features.

As always I will continue to run periodic group buys of this program for the shooters on the hide!!
