I will be shooting 250 and 300 grainers and would like to know what you have found as a good starting point like either RL 25 or Retumbo grains for the 250 and the 300 also the seating depth like .101 off " jump" or otherwise
Appreciate the help getting the rifle next week and would like to start to load some up bullet barely seated .
Then when the rifle gets here check the oal and set to ???? .010 off???
    Thanks Bill

How far are you planning on shooting Bill? Did you look in the Reloading Depot above?

When I first ordered my '42 12", I found a guy on Ebay selling some loaded ammo and components. He shot an AR-30 out to 1500yds at the NRA range in New Mexico.

He sold me 100 of his pet loads using new Lapua brass and 300gr SMK molys over 94.5grs of Retumbo and CCI 34s. He said in his rifle, he could hold MOA out to 1300 yds before they started opening up. Maybe start there and stay lowish if you don't need to shoot out to 1700 yds?

I'm only able to shoot to 1k, so my loadings are moderate, as I don't need to stress the throat by loading hot.

    Check the Depot tacked above.

I have found RL25 to work great for both bullets. I was told I would end up around 90g for the 250 scenars and 87gr for the 300 Sierra's. My gun has a 27" Krieger and I ended up exactly on those loads mentioned above. By the way I am loading to mag length.
