Gunsmithing Local Smith Recommendations?

I'm torn between buying factory savage or Rem 700 in 308 or parting out gun to send to good smith. I don't want to go down parts route if I cant get it built. What smiths do y'all recommend? Any good ones around San Antonio, Tx?

Budget - $1200-1500 range
Purpose - Hog and Deer slayer (some paper punching)
Range - 200-500 mostly (can get way longer on 32k acre ranch)
