The M2008 action is what I've decided on for my build...anyone know where I can locate one?

Re: Locating a Badger M2008 action in .308

If you can wait a month or so, you can buy the newest gen M2013 AKA M2008. Badger will have them ready for purchase middle of Feb. At least that's what i've been told.

Re: Locating a Badger M2008 action in .308

I could wait, any idea what the price will be?

Re: Locating a Badger M2008 action in .308

I wonder what the updates are on the Gen 3. I might have to pull my Gen 2 out of the safe again.

Steve

Please check the price and availability on 338 Action as well. Thanks

Re: Locating a Badger M2008 action in .308

just called them...no more m2008's available. The next order will be for m2013's shipping out possibly around mid February...price $1180. No pre-orders at this time...but they are discussing that option.

Maybe we can get a group buy together and discount it a little

Re: Locating a Badger M2008 action in .308

Anyone have a link on any information about this Gen III Badger action?

Re: Locating a Badger M2008 action in .308

They haven't released any information for that yet...they're waiting for the shot show.

Re: Locating a Badger M2008 action in .308

The last two leftys known to man!!!!

The gen 2-M2008 and the 2013 are going to be very similar from what I have heard. The 2013 will be a little lighter from what I recall.

BUT, no more leftys moving forward.

Re: Locating a Badger M2008 action in .308

I'm up for a group buy also if it happens.

Re: Locating a Badger M2008 action in .308

The biggest difference's in the M2008 and M2013, is more material was machined away in certain areas to make it lighter. They also changed the bolt release slightly to be more user friendly. And the biggest/best improvement made was the spring on the bolt lift. They lightened it up a bit to be easier to open. Again, I haven't actually used one, but a good source is where I've gotten my info.

Price is going to be just a shade more than the M2008, because of the extra attention to details and lets face it, it is the new gen. My opinion, it's well worth the extra coin for the extra goodies.

Shot show will be the unveiling, so we should hear something shortly after that. And yes, I'd be up for a group buy as well.

Re: Locating a Badger M2008 action in .308

Who knows the GO-TO guy at Badger to setup a Group Buy?

I'd like to see where we could get a set of rings thrown in, maybe if enough buy a great deal on the action and bottom metal w/mag.

Re: Locating a Badger M2008 action in .308

I believe a group buy was tried in the past. I believe Marty said there wasn't enough mark up in the actions to give any deals. I would get in a group buy if it were to happen, but I don't think we'll get that lucky...

Kind regards,
Jared

Re: Locating a Badger M2008 action in .308

Would love to see a bolt shroud safety akin to the Win70 or AI.

I love my M2008, fabulous action, though a little heavy.

• Bolt locks into the receiver using a breeching ring, which is trapped
between the barrel and the receiver.
• Breeching ring is made from precipitation hardend corrosion resistant steel.
• Full length Aluminum M 1913 Mil Spec. 20 MOA Rail (Picatinny) held on with 4 #8-40 screws and 2 recoil pins.

I like it...do you have a link to the page. I just looked there and couldn't find anything

Re: Locating a Badger M2008 action in .308

I'd like to see the cocking ramp on it...

Same footprint as M2008?

No, they are still heavier than any 700 or clone.

Re: Locating a Badger M2008 action in .308

Re: Locating a Badger M2008 action in .308

love me a m2008 but this may induce another badger build...

Re: Locating a Badger M2008 action in .308

The footprint is the same, they verified it for me on their Facebook page.

Hope this helps.

Kind regards,
Jared

Re: Locating a Badger M2008 action in .308

Wish they'd take pre-order.

Same footprint? Yes. I spoke to them about this directly and was told that it's the same footprint as the M2008

BTW, if someone has an M2008 action the want to sell PM me.

Re: Locating a Badger M2008 action in .308

duplicate post.

maybe someone will have one (m2008)at the HGCA show this weekend

Re: Locating a Badger M2008 action in .308

Kinda' torn myself. Getting ready to start a build that was planned to be on a M2008 action. Do I try to find a 2008 or take the plunge to the 2013?

Re: Locating a Badger M2008 action in .308

supposedly they will be taking orders at the end of February...who knows when they'll actually ship.

My concern is will the every day schmo be able to order one, or will Badger take the big shop orders and say to the rest of us...sorry, we're out.

Re: Locating a Badger M2008 action in .308

Played with at SHOT, they have updated everything or the complaints of prior generations . This is one silky smooth action. I almost want to build another just because of this action

Re: Locating a Badger M2008 action in .308

Did it seem like the bolt had a bit more play in it or is it still super tight like the 2008?

Re: Locating a Badger M2008 action in .308

If I have extra barrels for my M2008 will they work in the M2013?

Re: Locating a Badger M2008 action in .308

Topgun...yes, from what I recall talking to them a few weeks ago.

OMT- yes they should fit as above, from what I recall talking to them.

If you have any questions...just call them.

As for am I getting one...not anymore. Why, they won't take an order. I've got a 700 that I've wanted to have worked on for a while. I can get it sent out to Dixon, have it back and shooting before Badger is willing to take my order.

When did they say they'd take orders?
