I recently bought a scope off a buddy. I found out that the sunshade has been locktited on. I’ve tried to twist it off but can’t. Any ideas how to remove it without damaging the scope? Thanks is advance!
Not suggesting you drop the entire scope in a bucket of acetone just try to work some into the thread area. You were suggesting brake cleaner, in a spray can I assume. ???

Wasn’t trying to offend you man. I also said I don’t think I’d want that near the lens . Just mentioned that was typically a way to break red loctite. Not my scope he can follow your advice if he wants.
Hey man, can you send this back to me now that you won’t be needing it? I’ll pick up the shipping for the return…..was just trying to help a brother out ….
