Gunsmithing Looking for a Savage LA Stock

I'd like to restock my Savage package gun, a pre accu-triger .30-06. Most of the stocks I've seen cost as much or more than the rifle did. Does anyone have a take off wood or laminate to replace my synthetic (Tupperware) stock? Opinions on aftermarket stocks welcome.

Yep Kevin rayhill makes some great synthetic ones , Joel Russo makes some awsome laminated one , I actualy prefer getting one of Joels A5L's to the McMillan stock becuase I can shpe it to fit my hand before finishing.

I restocked a couple Savages for the guys at the hunting camp with the cheap B&C Duramaxx stock and while its nothing like the synthetics that Kevin Rayhill makes its a huge step up from the factory junk
