Looking for a suggestion

Good morning everyone. FNG hear from south Florida. Hope everyone is doing well.
So I am going out of state hunting in November and it will be out of a box blind for whitetail deer. I’ve been researching the best way to stabilize my bolt action rifle out of the windows. Two suggestions came up. Protektor bag that goes over the window and a tripod system with a PIG saddle.
Now granted, I’ll be walking in about half a mile. I have a nice backpack from kifaru that can hold weight. I just want to be as steady as possible.
If I do go with a tripod, I know the PiG saddle cost but what can I do for the tripod itself and a ball head. Trying to keep budget friendly.

In my opinion, single best/simplest option is to get a Game Changer or Fortune Cookie for the blind window. This will add a lot of extra stability without spending a lot of money. And that type of bag is very utilitarian for a lot of other stuff as well.

Getting a tripod just for what you’re describing seems a bit extraneous to me....

Yeah that is what i was thinking but wanted some honest opinions for you guys.

The simple solutions above are probably the best you are likely to come up with. Many times the box blind or its walls will not be solid enough to benifit from anything better.

I use a Mini Fortune Cookie from Weibad for exactly what you're talking about. Weibad is close to me, they're really good folks. Chose the mini because it's a little bit smaller and easier to carry around in my backpack. The full size will only be better/more stable, but it's pretty big so I chose to sacrifice a tiny bit of stability for portability. That's up to you really. If all you're going to do is walk in a half mile occasionally, might as well get the big one.

The Game Changer will do exactly the same thing, it's a little bit more expensive but the wax canvas material is pretty cool. I am not a competition shooter but I believe the ability to attach the bag to the rifle is something that is most relevant in that type of setting when you're on the clock. I've never had any need to have it attached to my gun in a hunting situation, and all the extra straps just get in the way if you ask me. In fact, I believe a lot of folks get the "OG" version because they like the heavier fill better and it doesn't have the straps.

Take 2 trekking poles....cross the poles and loop the wrist straps over each other and that’ll make a nice solid shooting platform.

Cheaper and lighter than a bipod...and you can use the poles if you have to cross tricky terrain

i ended up ordering the mini. really like the bag a lot. thanks for the advice

I think you're better off with the sticks, many portable blinds can't support the weight of a bag and firearm.
