Hello all. Firstly, please advise if this is not in the correct forum section. Secondly, please excuse my ignorance, as I am wanting to learn more.

I have come to the conclusion that I cannot buy an off the shelf the rifle that I want, which leaves me the option of having one built (unless one of you want to sell something you have)
What I want and won't compromise on:
- 6.5 Creedmoor
- Carbon fiber wrapped barrel
- CRF action
- under 7 pounds (without scope)
- Not a wood stock
- 1 moa accuracy at worst. I'm a mountain hunter, but don't shoot at game much past 650yds or so. I don't need a 1/4 minute rifle, but obviously I want it accurate enough for all reasonable hunting applications. I do reload.

I haven't settled on a budget because I don't know what all is possible. However I want to stay budget minded. I don't need unnecessarily fancy technology, but I want it to run smooth.
I have enjoyed my win 70 classic actions, and have been intrigued by the 704 action.

Any advice on where to go, where to buy who to ask, what parts to look at, etc. would be greatly appreciated.
Or, if I've totally missed some commercially available option, please let me know.

Thank you ask in advance.

I’m also getting ready to build a similar rifle. I’ve already purchased a Nucleus action (CRF), I just need to get the rest assembled. Fortunately for me, there is a local gunsmith near me that is a precision rifle builder and will build what I want. I expect to have to spend at least $2500-3000 before I’m done. It can be done cheaper if I go with a different stock or a non-CF barrel, but that’s my expectation.

If that is more than you had in mind, take a look at places like Christiansen Arms or even an off the shelf Tikka. Both good options and both will shoot within your expectations for less than $2000. Neither are controlled round feed, but are excellent rifles on their own merit.

Look into TL Technologies actions, Alamo Precision offers that as their in house action, having a 280ai build right now with that action, proof barrel, McMillan a3 Sporter CF. Should be under 7 pounds before optics. The action is a 700 footprint and CRF, I believe it’s a copy of the Ed Brown 704 action. Priced very competitively as well.

Just buy someone selling a proof rifle or custom I see them constantly on armslist or here. I’ve owned two proof barrel and so far have been unreal accurate and well cool
Looking haha
