Re: Looking for idea how to lift comb for SOPMOD stock
Thanks for the suggestions guys. I ended up with a $.90 section of black EVA foam from a craft store. Cut two layers to fit and bonded them on with high-strength contact cement. Works great.
Re: Looking for idea how to lift comb for SOPMOD stock
on my previous stocked rifle, I simply took an old mouse pad...foam type with nylon cloth backing. I simply cut it in half and duck taped it to the stock...perfect.
Found another viable option as well. The Magpul CTR with the Larue RISR. http://www.laruetactical.com/larue-tactical-risr-ctr-combo
The surface can still be built up with foam and allows clearance for the charging handle even when collapsed.

The Larue RISR is nice but... you can not use your BUIS at all with it. IF you try you will just look over the top of them. It is nice for a scope but if it goes down you are SOL in the field. Spend the money and get a SAPR from Battleline and I have seen the Magpul version on Stickman and it looks great.
