I have a Remington 700 tactical in .308 that doesn't see any action anymore. I built another .308 that shoots lights out so it got pushed aside. Thinking about trying SWFA or Athlon, as they seem to have some decent middle of the road optics. Also considering a fixed power optic in the 10x range, and I know SWFA offers one of those at a reasonable price point. I'm not a "cheap" kind of guy, but I'm not looking to spend a mint as I have many other toys I thoroughly enjoy wringing my money out of. I've never been behind either of the two brands I listed, and they both seem to have a stellar reputation here, of which I respect. Am I looking to the right area if I'm trying to be, say, sub $600? Only using .308 for <6-700yds, paper and steel. Maybe a mangy coy dog or two. Currently stocked with vortex viper PST gen 1's on 3 different weapons, for comparison purposes. Thanks in advance.
