• Winner! Quick Shot Challenge: What’s the dumbest shooting myth you’ve heard?

    View thread

Lots of people in uproar about this...your thoughts?

Not true at all.
I’m against violence against the just. I’m for violence against the unjust.
I’m for reasonable search and seizure. Against unreasonable search and seizure.
And context means everything.
And if/when something that is lawful begins to erode our rights it’s up to us to stop the erosion.
Take the 4th amendment for example. It protects against unreasonable search and seizure. That must mean it condones reasonable search and seizure. What does reasonable mean? When these questions get asked, who decides? Lawyers. So what if at some point lawyers decide reasonable means ‘convenient to law enforcement’? Not good but people let that slide because there’s no way LE would abuse that. Then later ‘convenient’ is determined to mean ‘anytime’. In this scenario do way throw out the 4th? No, we fix the erosion and abuses.
All this to say don’t be afraid of what something “might” become. Be watchful instead.

You are still missing the point:

Those that surrender freedoms for security deserve neither freedom nor security.

Sound familiar? Your position compromises that completely. Either you see that or you don’t and a discussion on a web board won’t change anything.

I think the difference in opinion is probably more generational than anything else. Younger people have a very different opinion on privacy and what privacy means.

What do you mean by that? I'm "young". There's a lot of dumb oblivious young people. Whole low of dumb old people that are statist and ".gov would never do anything wrong "

Younger people have grown up with cameras in place. Younger people display their lives on social media without any concern of disclosure. The degree of “sharing” is very different when comparing Gen Xers and Millenials. My post had NOTHING to do with statist so let us not make it into something it wasn’t.

About 5 years ago China found a guy at a sporting event in a crowd of about 50k in less than 56 seconds after he came through the main gate.
I can't imagine how much more advanced it is today.
I also forgot to mention my trip to Alaska.
Back in 2000 I took a trip to Alaska.
I was pulling an enclosed trailer with a snowmobile and crossed at an obscure port.
By the time I pull up to the customs booth the customs agent asked me BY NAME to pull over to the vehicle inspection area.
I had no problems with the search.
Unbeknownst to me I didn't know British Columbia main cash crop is weed.
The custom people put my vehicle back together and fixed a rattle/squeak that the vehicle had since new.
Howbouthat

Yeah lol. We are talking about a generation of people that eat tide pods, have to have safe spaces, can’t handle stress, have no idea what gender they are etc. They are definitely different. I guess the USA will become the country of stupid pansies.

^ a lot of that is caused by single parent households, the feminization of the male, bs labor and other laws that keep kids from getting meaningful work experience, etc

All caused by women voting

I already own the airports, so do you

Here lies another issue, taxation without representation. I’m no longer represented in the gov by elected officials and I have zero say so in how the 37% of tax money I hand over is used. As far as I’m concerned the country doesn’t represent me anymore and I’d rather have those tax dollars used for something I choose, not what these idiots decide. How about we quit giving money to those that hate us, we quit proving aid across the globe, we no longer provide military support of any kind throughout the world and we start taking care of those here at home. And they could do that, if they gave two shits about any of us or the country. They don’t care because all of these things are scams to further enrich others. The country’s citizens have been getting fucked for decades.

They just crammed a new gas tax down our throats here in my state, supposedly for infrastructure maintenance and so on. I call bullshit. Let’s see if the roads around here actually get any better. I’d bet they don’t. It’s going somewhere else and a percentage of that is, I guarantee, getting funneled to someone’s bank account or accounts. I bet if we actually audited all of these people that you’d find all kinds of abuse. But I’m going to shut up because I’m talking to an echo chamber. Like @Switchblade said until we actually rally together and make some changes, we are just wasting time. I’d move to another country tomorrow if I thought I’d be any better off or if I knew of a place with less abuse, sad thing is, I don’t know of any.

1st. You don’t need a licence to drive a car. The Supreme Court actually backed this so I’m not just your local crazy constitutionalist saying that..
2nd airports are public, biult with taxes and “secured” with cops and tsa. Tsa is all the people that woulda been prison guards before 9/11. So all this talk of “private” business don’t hold water in this desert.
3rd forced ID is violating 4th, just like when a cop stops you while walking down the road or in the passenger seat of a vehicle.
4th is everything is fine and dandy when they are using it to catch terrorists until you realize they decide who is terrorists. READ the “rightwing radicalization report. If you don’t tote their line and 100% comply then your a terrorist. If your on this forum and you can’t yet see this, then by the time you realize I might be right, it’s too late.

This is absolutely hilarious!
I was stating my opinion in reference to camera recognition in airports.
Then MtnCreek responds with this^^^well thought argument insinuating I’m naive.
His position being that it would be against his civil rights.
But it would appear that he would be ok living and enjoying ‘liberty’ in 1941 Germany
So to him I say....
