It seems like every time I pick up a one piece 20 moa base, even after mounting a scope in low rings, a good cheek weld has me looking below the scope. Below is a sample picture. The base is an Xtremem Hardcore Gear (stupidest company name ever, but if it works I'll be happy) base, with Warne LOW 30mm rings, and a Sightron SIII 6-24 Tactical scope with a 50mm bell. You can see from the picture how high the bell is above the barrel. I'm not opposed to an aftermarket cheek piece, but I'd like to hear if there's a different option out there.

Looks to me like you get plenty of room for a fatter barrel, who cares how high the front bell is off as long as it is off and you can get a good sight picture.
Cheers.

you have 2 options, and the second option also has 2 options.

Option 1: you said you have "low rings" there are a few companies that make "extra low" rings that might help.

Option 2: Building up your stock height.
2A: Buy one that fits over the stock has a padded riser and maybe even a little pocket on one side for random stuff you want.
2B: Slowly build it up yourself till you find just the right height and secure it in place.

also like stated above you have room for a bigger barrel now, so if you take option 2 by the time you are ready to re-barrel your action you are already used to the scope height.

If you ever get into running a clip on NVD up front you will need to run high or extra high rings to ensure alignment and that is when you need to start getting creative unless you have an adjustable cheek piece (luckily I do) but it still needs a little added to it.

I have Seekins low rings, the proprietary .820" lows, and a Seekins 20 MOA rail that gives me 1/3 the clearance you have, and mine is mounted over a magnum sporter weight Remington. It would probably require low-mediums to fit on yours.

Well, from observing your setup I would suggest a stock pack or having STOCKDOC modify your stock and install the TC hardware. If your sight picture was just a "little" off you could move your rear ring forward and gain a very small amount of adjustment or replace the 20 MOA base with a 0 tilt. It appears that lower rings would have the ocular/mag ring resting on the base so I doubt that would be an answer especially since you indicate that with the current setup you are looking "beneath" the glass. As mentioned, the amount of clearance between the bell and the barrel is not sufficient enough to be concerned about and obviously quite secondary to your cheek weld quandary.

On average, a steel rail will be lower than an aluminium rail. IOR makes a very high quality rail, that is inexpensive, and very low. Badger, Night Force, and TPS are other options. But most likey, you will still have to build-up the stock a bit.
