Hello all, I am in the just getting my feet wet stage of learning to shoot long range, and the next purchase I am looking to make is a rangefinder. I am looking for something that works reliably and has good warranty so I don’t have to worry about it for a long time. I am strongly considering the Vortex Razor HD 4000, as I do not want to spend more than $500, and it seems like it fits my criteria well. The next planned purchases will be a kestrel and maybe a book so I can hopefully somewhat learn what I am doing correctly, so advice on these items would be welcome too.
My actual question is specific to the integration of the LRF to other devices, ie. kestrel, phone, etc., and/or where you can load ballistic info for your rifles into it. Is this functionality something I should consider paying more for, if so which functions are important and/or work well? Or is this something I should not mess with until I learn it on my own first?
Thank you
