Does anyone actually think anything will happen to any of them? Those people are used having their orders followed without question. They are always right. Regardless of what they may say, their utmost priority is maintaining their positions which they have accomplished by refusing to question the ramblings and poor planning by Dementia Joe. They will continue to do so while looking for some lackey to pin all of this on. Some clerk forgot to forward a memo or something like that.

Have you ever wondered what happened to the 56 men who signed the Declaration of Independence?

Five signers were captured by the British as traitors, and tortured before they died. Twelve had their homes ransacked and burned. Two lost their sons in the revolutionary army, another had two sons captured. Nine of the 56 fought and died from wounds or hardships of the revolutionary war.

They signed and they pledged their lives, their fortunes, and their sacred honor.

What kind of men were they? Twenty-four were lawyers and jurists. Eleven were merchants, nine were farmers and large plantation owners, men of means, well educated. But they signed the Declaration of Independence knowing full well that the penalty would be death if they were captured.

Carter Braxton of Virginia, a wealthy planter and trader, saw his ships swept from the seas by the British Navy. He sold his home and properties to pay his debts, and died in rags.

Thomas McKeam was so hounded by the British that he was forced to move his family almost constantly. He served in the Congress without pay, and his family was kept in hiding. His possessions were taken from him, and poverty was his reward.

Vandals or soldiers or both, looted the properties of Ellery, Clymer, Hall, Walton, Gwinnett, Heyward, Ruttledge, and Middleton.

At the battle of Yorktown, Thomas Nelson Jr., noted that the British General Cornwallis had taken over the Nelson home for his headquarters. The owner quietly urged General George Washington to open fire. The home was destroyed, and Nelson died bankrupt.

Francis Lewis had his home and properties destroyed. The enemy jailed his wife, and she died within a few months.

John Hart was driven from his wife’s bedside as she was dying. Their 13 children fled for their lives. His fields and his gristmill were laid to waste. For more than a year he lived in forests and caves, returning home to find his wife dead and his children vanished. A few weeks later he died from exhaustion and a broken heart. Norris and Livingston suffered similar fates.

Such were the stories and sacrifices of the American Revolution. These were not wild eyed, rabble-rousing ruffians. They were soft-spoken men of means and education. They had security, but they valued liberty more. Standing tall, straight, and unwavering, they pledged: “For the support of this declaration, with firm reliance on the protection of the divine providence, we mutually pledge to each other, our lives, our fortunes, and our sacred honor.”


I am willing to bet that the Lt. Col. knew these facts better than most. Now we all do.

I just got ten copies of the 3rd edition 2021 printing. I gave two to my Grandchildren and the rest of them to the kids in the neighborhood.

He has put it all on the line, both professionally and personally, unlike the pussy generals and admirals that waited until they got their retirement packages, then decided to voice their displeasure with bite me, milley, austin, and kamel toe.

Why he has had such a powerful voice is precisely because he chose to not follow the chain and instead, went right to us. Know of any other active military that is doing that? Don't know if any of you caught it, but it almost sounded like his wife was going to leave him. That has to be a tremendous amount of pressure in this man's life.

We all bitch and whine about nobody having the balls to call out the situations and individuals that are ripping this country apart, then when one comes along, we start to tear him down. Fuck that, and I really hope this man is the real deal and will walk the walk. Now more than ever, we need hero's like this, and I do mean hero.

We are in a new day and time where following the chain will put you in chains and that holds for both the military and corporate America.

When I look back on my own career, I must agree with Boyd's assessment.

The implied duty of the oath places a higher burden on the officer. Officers are not oath bound to "obey the orders of the officers appointed over me". The phrase is intentionally omitted and the guardrails absent. However, it also does not offer reprieve from repercussions of being compelled to act, anymore than action in combat does. Many times the repercussions will be quite harsh. But that is the essence of courage. It is what we demand of our officers. That is the job. It is not easy, but it is honorable.

It is clear to LtCol Stuart Scheller that some of our officers failed to do their duty. That is also clear to many of us. He had the courage to act, put his career on the line, voice his dissent and call out their failings. It was the honorable thing to do.

^Guilty. I read the DoI out loud to my kids every Independence Day. I make sure they know what those words mean. I break it down and explain the language to them in a way they can understand. It amazes me how many folks in this country have no idea. Such a powerful document. Just ignorance or laziness? Or perhaps just a more powerful cabal in Washington that would rather no one read it?
Not ignorance or lazy. A willful negligence by "educators" employed by The State.
