All,
One of our guys has an LTR, which is a hammer, that the rubber butt pad has gotten stiff or hard to the touch. It is almost like the rubber has dry rotted.

Is this replaceable, or upgradable? Is it screwed on? It is the Factory HS precision stock that comes with the LTR.

Thanks

Re: LTR Butt pad ?

Yes they are replaceable. They are glued on, but can be removed with a putty knife or any kind of knife. Some people have had very good luck by placing the stock in a cold environment, then place the knife edge at the seam and strike the blade. The one I did needed to be cleaned up on a belt sander to clean up the small pieces remaining and a new pad fitted. You can either glue the new one on or screw it on.

Re: LTR Butt pad ?

Update, if anyone is interested. I called HS Precision to check on buying a recoil pad. The CS guy there was awesome and said since it is a work rifle to send the stock in and they'd replace it free of charge and get it right back out.

Awesome customer service.
