I'm pretty sure rsilvers has posted this video somewhere on here already.

Nope I think I beat him to it. This video was released on the 22nd.

Edit:

SOB I didn't read the thread this was posted in 2 days ago.

It's not that simple. Few departments are willing to approve another round just for that purpose. 9mm in MP5's or 5.56/.223 in a AR will cover most of their needs and trying to make a case that a department needs to add another caliber is going to be an uphill battle for most.

Re: LWRC Testing 300 AAC BLK!

Police found a way to justify 40 S&W when one could argue 9mm and 45 were fine. If a major federal agency or military group adopts it, then police will be more able to justify it.

Still we need a good bonded or solid copper load first, and that is in the works.

You can get one right after I get mine!

This might get me back into a shortie upper.

What I meant to say was there are already plenty of rounds approved for LE use and w/that about 99% of the needs are met. Trying to get an entirely new round approved for that 1% will be difficult. Sure, with time anything can happen but I wouldn't hold your breath and wait for it as it will likely be some time before this is the case.

Re: LWRC Testing 300 AAC BLK!

True but 9mm and 45 covered 99% of the handgun needs and 40 S&W still found a way to push through.

5.56mm is terrible for short barrels, and a surprisingly large amount of police ARs are 11.5 or shorter.

300 AAC BLACKOUT from a 10.5 inch barrel matches 5.56mm from a 16 inch barrel.

If hypothetically a few well known federal LE agencies adopt it, then others who want it also will be able to point to those agencies in their justification.

I couldn't agree more with your statement but I just think it will be a while before it's adopted widely as another LE round. Just being realistic.

Re: LWRC Testing 300 AAC BLK!

I am thinking 2 years from now for it to be the #2 centerfire rifle AR cartridge. So far we have not advertised it in gun magazines but now that ammo is abundant and with the UMC and AccuTip coming out in November, we will start.

"Selling guns is like selling vacuum cleaners; you make calls, pound the pavement, take orders."

Are you going to do demos for LE agencies along with guerrilla advertising?
