I broke my Lee hand primer last week and I picked up a Lyman ezee hand primer at the local reloading shop. I really like how comfortable it is and how it is easier to squeeze the primers in.

I put a few primers in and noticed that they were not seating all the way. I took the handle and pushrod out and figured if I extended the pushrod a little it would fix the issue.

I ground the coating off the tip and tig welded the tip to add a little material. Then I ground it back down slowly till the pushrod was .015 longer. I then reassembled everything and now I have a little extra travel that allows me to fully seat the primers properly.

I could have returned the hand primer but I was in the middle of loading and didn't have time to swap it out and I like it way more than my old lee priming tool. Hope this helps someone who encounters the same issue in the future. I will probably end up making a new pushrod from scratch if I am bored one day.
