M&P 40c..best conceal holster????.................I need something that is leather (not plastic) that covers the trigger guard all the way down to the end of the barrel, sits high up from the belt, and one that is affordable. I have a leather one that is on the belt but the barrel hangs down out of the holster about 1 inch. It also hangs down about an inch or so past my shirt / jacket line. I dont like to wear long shirts or jackets so I need something that makes the gun sit just a bit higher so the barrel doesnt hang down past the shirt / jacket line. I would also like one that isnt open at the bottom (covers end of barrel) and lined to prevent firearm finish wear. Also interested in paddle holsters but I have never used one. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thanks for looking.

I tried them but not for that gun. For a good concealed holster have a good company make you one. It will make all the differnce in the world. I use to be one of those guys how bought generic (per say) IWB holsters for my guns but started by having one made and now thats all i use. Sold all my others. My favorite is a Knull undercover for my CZ, rides great and I forget i have it on it fits so good.
I tried them but not for that gun. For a good concealed holster have a good company make you one. It will make all the differnce in the world. I've used a Desantis OWB belt scabbard (don't recall what they call it, but it works). I 've also liked a Galco Summer Comfort (IWB). I've used that one the most when carrying the compact (I carry the full size more often).
I have a Sparks EX coming for the compact that should be here later in the month. I've used the EX for other pistols in the past and really like it.
I've used a Desantis OWB belt scabbard (don't recall what they call it, but it works). I 've also liked a Galco Summer Comfort (IWB). I've used that one the most when carrying the compact (I carry the full size more often).

Fobus is just cheap, injection molded junk I wouldn't carry a pistol in.
Why don't you like Kydex (plastic)? A lined leather holster tends to wear the finish all over the pistol, as you have much more surface contact.
Galco is great for a production leather holster. Desantis are less expensive, but are a thinner leather than will wear out faster.
Paddle holsters tend to conceal poorly, and don't stay as well put on the user in a struggle.
Kirkpatrick makes great leather, Galco is great, Safariland makes a few leather options, but there are a LOT of other companies out there that make leather holsters.
After going to kydex holsters though, I personally have no interest in leather holsters anymore.
