Gunsmithing M1903 Bolt Assembly question

My gunsmith can't seem to make the time for me, even tho I made time for him on 3 separate occasions to save his computer...

So I'm ordering parts to assemble a new bolt that I purchased from a fellow SH member - is it like a Rem 700 where I need a tool or can I just put it all together?

A 1903 bolt can be assembled w/o any special tools except the extractor retaining ring remover. I'll PM you a link to a fine quality reprint of the original 1906 manual.

you should be able to get a complete bolt assembly from Gun Parts Corporation cheaper than buying the parts individually.

I bought a base bolt from a fellow hide member, brand spanking new, beautiful - prefer to use it, but unfortunately it's going to cost me ...


The bolt has an extractor retaining ring on it already, no reason to take it off
