Pretty cool piece of history here. They’re auctioning off an M24 prototype from the Remington archives. They’ll give you a letter of authenticity stating it came from the Remington archives as well if you ask.

Those would definitely be appreciated in the M24 threadYou should have seen the look on my face Saturday morning when I realized I won with my $3200 max bid. After it arrives it will be available for questions and photos if any one wants a closer look.
It certainly isn't in the auction pics...Well the M24 prototype arrived today. Somewhere between the auction photos and my house it picked up a Remington 700 logo on the side of the receiver and I just can’t. Too angry to discuss right now
I sent an angry email…….I’m guessing someone sad we can’t sell this without a model number on the receiver.
I’m going to hang onto to my angry comments until I hear back from them.
No updates? That does not bode well
You don’t think they just throw together a bunch of parts and send it out do you?
No, I don't think they just throw a bunch of parts together and send it out. I did think that if they used the rifle for testing it would show signs of wear unless they just tested measurements or something. They would build internal prototypes to test themselves and then they would build rifles to send to the military for their own testing.
