Hello,

I am threading a the muzzle of an FAL to 1/2x28 to accept an M4 birdcage flashhider. The barrel is only .590" in diameter, so I am going to need to time this and have it seat on the face of the muzzle. The problem lying therein is that looking into the threaded end of the flashhider, the portion of the FH that will seat against the muzzle has a taper to it.

Does anyone know what this taper is or how I can measure it inside of the FH? I want to turn a small portion of the outside of the muzzle so it will seat firmly against this face.

Thanks for any help

Re: M4 Birdcage Flashhider info

The flash hider is not designed to touch the muzzle. It is designed to be used with a crush washer. The shoulder of the flash hider squshes the crus washer between it and the shoulder on your barrel.

If it were me i would make a locking ring. Screw on the locking ring, then screw on the flash hider. index the flash hider where you want it and tighten the locking ring against the flash hider
