I'm in the market for an AR but cant decide on Del-Ton's m4 or their 20 inch version. Will i sacrifice any accuracy by going with the m4 vs. the 20". Also any good or bad comments on Del Ton AR's?

I just made that decision, I went with 16". I didnt feel that adding the 4" would add that much in accuracy in the ranges I plan to shoot. .223 out to 700 yds is a stretch, with most of my long range shooting in the under 500 yards - I felt that the added manuverability of 16" was better than a hundred feet per second in a higher risk shot to 700, 800yds.

I just did a build and had the same question, in the end the 18" didn't add enough and the 16" has always served me well out to 600 so I didn't see the need to have anything longer.
After you add anything to the muzzle you are going to be at 18-22" depending on what you decide.

The only reason I'm choosing 18" over 16" is that I want to try a rifle-length gas system; I already have a 16" mid-length.

I have both carbine and rifle and prefer the balance of the rifle. If you're shooting iron sighted, and the A2 are very nice sights, the rifle will give you a better sight radius. I don't do much house clearing and the only time I thought someone was trying to open my door, the Sig P220 cleared corners pretty fast, I suspect faster than any carbine.
ETA, I may be weird, but I never did like the contour of the M4 barrel where the supposed grenade launcher attaches to, and the idea of using a carbine with something mounted onto the barrel to scare birds off of trees just sounds too redneck for even me. A regular (“skinny”) or heavy barrel contour may cost you less money (in addition to looking better).

I like the 16" Colt 6721. Same as the 6920 M4 but with a HBAR barrel and a 1:9 twist. I rarely shoot my 6600 HBAR and the 16" is just as accurate. You loose a little distance due to loss in velocity.
