Im starting out my journey building an m40 and need a good bit of help (particularly finding the right stuff!!) I was going to be building the m70 which I have a 1948 dated rifle for but was told for my purposes (reenacting) it would be hard to utilize in a historically accurate manner as most events are mid to late war. I particularly need pictures of the floor plate, sling swivels, and all 3 cuts on the reciever. I also need recommendations for a few things someone to do the milling work, scope coloring, and a stock maker. I figured best bet would be to find the small parts first and get the scope done and whenever I find the right rifle ill send it all out where it needs to go. Thank you in advance for your help!!!

Here is an entire thread answering your questions. There is a wealth of information on this forum and it will keep you busy for days if you search for it. I think your first decision needs to be how "clone correct" you want your rifle? If you want to use as many original parts as possible, you need a thick wallet. If on the other hand your just want a M40 look alike it will be much cheaper and parts will be more readily available. Once you have made that decision, have fun the trip can be enjoyable.
