Any info or constructive criticism is appreciated.
I'm interested in a 3 lug design action like the Curtis Axiom. I like the 60° bolt throw.
What is the preferred magazine? I've noticed some actions accept multiple variants and some don't. Is three lug more forgiving that two lug? Is the magazine type more dependent on the stock/ chassis, and what prevents over insertion?
I had my heart set on a MPA PMR but feel uneasy about the feature that prevents over insertion. Any tips on this would be appreciated too.
Some magazine options- AICS magazines (i.e. double stack, single feed), AW magazines (i.e. true double stack)
MDT makes one too, magpul, Acurate....Im sure there are more.
Maybe the answer is Single stack for a cartridge like the 6.5 PRC, and double stack for the 6.5 creedmoor?
I haven't shot a bolt gun for a long time. Now that Im in NM there is wide open BLM land everywhere. Typically I'm a HK and LWRC shooter. They have been nothing but reliable for me. Ultimately, I would like to shoot a lot over the next year or two with the 6.5, and then upgrade the barrel and bolt to shoot 6.5 PRC at critters from far away.
