I picked up a bunch of once fired magtech brass shot from an ar10 at the range. Resizing was difficult and required a lot of force at the press. After trimming all cases to 2.005", the rest of the case prep, charging and seating, I went to the range to let some lead fly. Each round was very difficult to eject. I had to slap the bolt handle up to open it. I have never had this problem with the Winchester brass, even after 3 loadings now. I was not charging over the max, and it even occurred on the min charged rounds.
Just to make sure it was the brass and not the rifle or impropter chamber cleaning, I fired two identical loads - one from winchester bass and one from the magtech brass. Same thing, winchester had no issues, magtech was difficult to eject. Both rounds chambered without issue. Trying to rechamber the spent magtech brass was difficult as well, the winchester spent case was not.
I have a ton of this magtech brass and would hate to not be able to use it but it seems like that may be the case. What is the issue here? Out of spec brass? Brass so soft it expands more than other cases?
I'm firing from a Howa M1500, don't know if it has a especially tight chamber or not.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. I don't want to damage my rifle, myself or anyone else at the range!
