Maggie’s Man's Best Friend Thread

I so confused over the abundant caliber choices

I just recently came up with the answer to a kid when he/she (no its on my crew) asks, "Do dogs go to heaven?"

The Bible teaches us that God is Love.

God is in heaven

Have you ever found anything more loving (and forgiving) than your dog?

Draw your own conclusions.

We just had to put down are Weimaraner ,Hoss last Saturday. Had him for 15 awesome years. Was the hardest decision we ever had to make. I grew up in a time when dogs were tools and you may leave hunting with 3 and come back with 2 and couldn't fathom losing one being this tough. How times change. Ill update with a pic when I get my wife to send me one.

I know the feeling, happened to me a few months back. My 4 year old Weimar got hit by a car and killed. I grieved harder for that dog than I ever have for any human. He was my boy.

I read what happened for your family and couldn't even imagine, hopefully Krieger helps fill the void. My old retired squirrel dog lady hangs out in the house some so its not dead quiet, but man the things you miss😢.

A few pics of the old man, even though he was the best dove retriever we ever owned he didn't shy away from treeing.

Our boy finishing his last supper, a big grain fed rib eye and tater tots washed down by a Budweiser. He will be missed by many.

Somehow I think I fucked up posting multiple pics

Looking at this thread again , brought some major league tears ....from a usually hard man that doesn’t do that.
Lost Coco the Havenese to congestive heart failure 2 weeks ago. She was from Cuba breed wise , but she was a non Commie through & through 👍 Still hurts 😩
On watch in picture !!

This pic is of when we got him. The next is his play girl pose. The last is when he was so chill he broke himself. This is Bodie. Love every second with him.

Not sure if it's been posted but here's an 80 yr. old man in Ft. Worth, Mr. Bostich, that built a dog train to take homeless shelter dogs for a train ride.

Sydney is a Rhodesian mix. I had to say goodbye to Jackson (Dachshund) last Wednesday. His heart finally gave out.

And this is my new Rhodesian. His name is Gunner. He had to have an eye removed due to Glaucoma caused by either an infection or injury at 8 weeks, he's now 10 weeks old. He just got the stitches and cone off today.

This is the last picture I took of them all together.

I may have posted the first pic on here before. Jasper the old man and bentley the new little shit. We had to put jasper down about a month ago. It was his time. Hard decision and a bad for sure. The wife and the little shit have sure taken to each other since then. Second oic of bentley going to his first rifle match. The others are more recent. He sure has grown since getting him at the end of February

I've sworn off any new cats or dogs for this reason and this reason alone.
I'm kinda in the same boat. Lost a great dog back in November that was an incredible companion for 16 years and have three cats left, one of which is the 17 year old stable mate of the departed dog. Not sure if I can go through that again and not in any hurry to get a new one.
