Was able to get in a few dove hunts with Kimber last weekend. She will be 11 in November and is having some joint issues in her spine. She is getting Previcox and Tramidol daily now. I realized yesterday that she has dropped almost 10 lbs in the last year. This may be her last dove season.

We went to a local pool a few weeks ago for their dog day. She didn’t want me to stop throwing the tennis ball!

The girls rescued another pit bull; he was going to be put down at the animal shelter today if not adopted. Two years old, WAY too much energy....I'd probably have way too much energy too, escaping death row.

Now we have five dogs...I thought cat ladies were crazy.

You're raising them with right values.

Another picture of my goofball. He had a seizure last night, it's the first one since May when we started him on phenobarbital. He was having them once a month before the meds. He's gained some weight since he started the medication so I'm gonna have to put him on a diet and get him some more exercise. Poor little guy can't catch a breakView attachment 7929295

( for the dog, not the children! I don't know your kids but they're about the same age as my daughter!)

When we brought home our little bundle of joy, within 6 months she had eaten 4 or 5 small areas of basement carpet. Nothing larger than a baseball sized spot, but in the most visible areas. Since it's in my man cave area, I'm reminded every day. We are getting the carpet replaced, so our little bundle of joy will be costing us about $3500.

Hangin’ Tree Cowdog Malinois mix tracked his first doe in the woods. nailed the blood trail perfectly and we’ll keep getting him ready for more. He got within 6 feet of the deer and then combat crawled and jumped on it. It was already expired but he got the reward of biting and licking the blood. Had to drag him back to the truck…. This dog just turned a year old and will search for anything you ask him to find. So far he’s located antlers, shed Antlers in the woods, fired casings, pot, and we even wadded up some blue painter’s tape and hid it in a shop and he found it stuck to the underside of a sink….

My little pup woke up today almost unable to walk. Called the vet and they can see her at 5:50pm. She's laying around but when she does get up, it' looks like she's favoring he left rear leg. She went to bed acting fine. No injury yesterday that we know about. She's got her tail tucked and that's not like her.

All she does it lay around.

Hopefully the vet will have not so serious news for us.

My boxer (right) found a friend the other day..

Every dog is her friend if they are willing to play, big and small. We just got back from 2hrs at a different dog park, she ran and played so hard, she couldn't even hop back in the car. She's just over a year..

My boy got to the point where he was on meds daily and then LASER. Though in the end either colitis or cancer got him. He quit playing in the water about 12-18 months before he passed. More because I didn't have access to a pool or calm water.

Was curious what you found out? Hopefully nothing serious.

Stupid dog. Went to the vets, they did their normal vet stuff and $545 later, they couldn't find anything wrong. They did all kinds of blood work, did x-rays on her back and another on her stomach and yet another on her esophagus. They palpitated every part of her body and even looked at her teeth. Late last night she started showing glimpses of her usual self.

This morning, you wouldn't know anything was wrong. Stupid dog......

But I'm glad she's doing okay this morning. Thanks for asking.

Those little ones seem to take over the house more than the big dogs. We had a mini doxie years ago and he was the king of the castle.

Had to take her in last week. They found her small intestine was all inflamed. Started her on two stomach meds, amoxicillian, and switched her to gabapentin from Tramadol. The vet sent some medicated canned food home and she is eating again. She gained 5lbs between Tuesday afternoon and Friday morning. Took her out and shot 10 dove Saturday morning despite the cold front that moved through.

That's great news. Yes, we changed my boy to Gabapentin as well as it doesn't have the issues most NSAIDS have on dogs and people. I hope for continued improvement. Labs have always had a special place in my heart.

Those Labs are tough as a $3 steak. Good luck with the rest of his recovery.

Seems like my pup has a staph infection. Don't know where she contracted it, but vet is sure it's a staph infection. Not sure if this was the cause of her weakness in her hind legs. She's on antibiotics and a soothing wipe on her belly and rear legs.
