whats a reasonable manual beam scale.
$100 max.
Would mostly be to set up progressives, but might occasionally use it to validate a scale.

My dad has an old rcbs 5-10 and its pretty nice. Slow, but its fine.

I have both the -05 and the -10 style scales. I find the -05 to be more consistent. Might be backlash on the threads on the -10 style scale - not sure. I heard the same complaint elsewhere so might want to avoid the threaded poise on the 10ths.

There are number of OHAUS dial-o-gram 310 scales in that price range on ebay. 0.01g sensitivity

It's a great scale, but I don't know about using it to validate another scale. That's what check weights are for.
