Rifle Scopes Mark 8 CQBSS?

i heard some mall ninja's talking of this optic the other day at a local gun store, and decided to look it up....WTF?

since when does leupold think they make anything that is worth this price?

anybody with experience with this optic that can justify the price being greater than a S&B?

Leupold has a lot of nice features on this optic.

I would love to put one on my work M4.....

However for the price, I hope they hit it big with the Mil sales. You aren't going to find a lot of us little guys willing to pay that price for that feature set.

IMHO a couple of Short Dot's trumps a Mk 8.

This opinion is just based on static handling. I have not gotten to actually shoot one yet. However I don't see any way that shooting one would change my opinion drastically.

I believe this will be a great scope, and it shows that someone at Leupold is trying something new. However I wonder how these very small optic companies like Premier, Schmidt & Bender, etc can come up with the exact same type of scope and features for less money than a huge Optical maker such as Leupold? With the facilities, manpower, and military/political connections you would think Leupold would be priced the best...but I guess they don't have to.(Cough political Corruption)

To be honest I like all the features of the MARK8 and would be a great addition to my spr except cost is crazy..

Reticle Illumination looks like it may have issues
