I'm working on an spr-ish build and will likely go with one of compass lake's SPR barrels. I built another AR back pre-2010 some time that was just a loud bullet-hose, and I'd like something a bit more refined now. What is the opinion on the value of their matched bolts? I can imagine the interface between extension and bolt as being pretty important from an accuracy perspective, but you don't hear much about this on the interwebz.

I'm thinking criterion right now, but maybe I'll spring for the kreiger et. al. later. Depends on how deep my pockets feel.

Made Master in NRA Highpower (I know that doesn't mean much around here) using an AR-15 service rifle that got rebarreled three times and I never changed the bolt.

So no, I don't buy the hype

Having a barrel with matching head spaced bolt could only increase reliability as well as accuracy. I prefer the JP barrels with matching bolts and obviously so does Krieger as they only ship with JP bolts and will no longer match their barrel to the customers bolt as they used to in the past.
