Looking for input if you have ran them both. I've only ran a mausingfield and didnt have any issues. Was incredibly smooth. I have not used a defiance yet. What are the pros and cons do you think? I plan on a LA build in 300wm, carbon barrel, carbon stock. Going to use for elk and general steel. Side note, planning on running a 22" barrel due to only shooting with my can on. Is this wise for a 300wm? Or should I go longer?
Thanks

Mausingfield 10 times out of 10.

Crf, huge extractor-- if you're going magnum I would go MF for this alone--, 4340 chromo at 50 hrc it's the stronger of the two, keyed rail (can change incline if you want, or get extended rails) holds tight even without the screws in you have to knock it off with a rubber mallet. Interchangeable bolt heads if you ever want to go standard bolt face. Get a barloc and a Savage prefit proof and you can swap between 300wm, 30-06, etc.. if you want. And one of the biggest things is the parts are sized to work. They shrug off dust, dirt, etc .. don't gall, and keep chugging. You can argue crf vs push feed, and which is smoother to run, etc etc... but there's no debating it's a more durable action.

Both will work. A Ruger American will work, but the MF is a better action in the land of diminishing returns IMO.

I'm getting ready to buy a couple of long mag bolt face actions and I've done a little research in the past week or two.

A Defiance action is available with a large claw style extractor. It is also available with a shroud safety. A Defiance Rebel action is available in 4340 Chromoly, I actually have a short one. I don't know the heat treatment specs.

The Rebels have pinned rails in 0,10, 20, 30, 40, 50, 60 MOA inclines. The Deviants, depending on which one you choose, are available with integral rail mounts from 0-30 MOA in 10 MOA increments.

A complete replacement bolt for a push feed Defiance is only $100 more than a Mausingfield bolt head and you can get Bug Nuts for them if you want.
