I have a McMillan stock inletted for a Surgeon 1086 action - with the wait times to obtain a new 1086 action getting VERY long, thinking of using another brand of action.

What other actions out there will work/be a close fit in the 1086 inletting??

Thinking of using one of the new Bighorn sporter actions with the integral recoil lug............wondering how the 2 specs of the actions compare??

Checked out the new Bighorn the other day. Very nice with the integral lug. The new Bighorn will drop into a standard Rem 700 inlet so you should be good to go. Or at least very, very close.

I think the 1086 Is just a rem 700 long action inlet .250 recoil lug with an extra cut out on the side for the bolt release. You have many options, defiance, big horn, stiller, bat tactical, plus a few more Im missing. The integral recoil doesnt change the inlet, worst case you might need to relieve the sides.
