Looking for some intel from Mcree Owners. Going to stick my 18 inch 308 R700 Can stick in a folder chassis. Looking to keep weight down and I can't seem to find any solid numbers. Im not looking at the "carbine" models as I want the adjustable cheek. On the McRee site both the folders, Regular and Compact, are listed at 5 lbs. Anyone have any actual numbers on how much those 3 inches of forend save you? Having carried a retarded amount of weight down range I became a firm believer in ounces=pounds=pain. I have email Mcree but haven't gotten a response.

Thanks in advance for any intel ...

Re: McRee Folder Options / Weight Difference

I have a Gen5 folder for a 700SA. I have not weighed it in a while but I was pretty sure it weighed 4.75lbs. I took one of the cheek pieces off to save a little weight. Scott is a great guy to say the least.

was it the standard with the 12 inch forend or the compact with the 9 inch forend?
