Got an e-mail from MDT announcing their new poly/metal magazine.

Did anyone get a chance to demo it before the release? I'm guessing the quality will be good since it's MDT. I was thinking about picking up some of their metal mags since their polymer mag only holds 8 rounds. This may be a good solution.

Probably worth pointing out that I can squeeze 10rd of 6.5CM into their 308 poly mags that I bought 2 years ago.

This does look interesting and I like that you can get a longer COAL than the straight poly mags, matching the metal mags with binder plate. All of my preferred AR mags are metal lips / polymer body as well.

I received my poly/metal mag order from MDT yesterday. It seems very well built and feeds super smoothly...much better than the MDT all-poly mag that I was using before. Also, the better COAL and window are nice bonuses.

Just ordered 3 of them. Have a lone peak Fuzion being finished this week. These are a backup plan in case we have issues getting AW mags to feed perfectly.

Wouldn’t fit in my KMW sentinel or my XLR envy pro.

Their website says compatible with all of the mdt aics chassis. I should have read that part first. lol

Seems like it.

I basically all but destroyed one a few min ago. Gave it a tap and it seated into my XLR. It feed great. But I ended up having to take the chassis off and beat it out with a dead blow hammer.

???
I always give my mags a coat before I stick it in

Well, I guess it's good MDT bought J. Allen Enterprises then... (adjustable mag well)

Ask me how I know...(just adjusted my JAE700 for the MDT 6BR mags for my Valkyrie build). They're not super long (front to back), but they were pretty tight until I opened the mag well collet a smidge....

I’m waiting on some mdt 12rnd mags. Haven’t heard any complaints about fit on these yet.

Just another note, my mdt 12 rounders are tight in a manners tikka mini Chassis. Not best em out with a hammer tight but that may be on the table with a little dirt. Just a hair too long

This sucks. Was hoping they would be the ticket for my 224 Valk Origin. I've got it in a XLR Carbon (kinda). Wonder how well they work in a Bravo.

Poly metal came in over the weekend and the oal improvment over the all poly like said above is huge. The all poly was boarder line feeding eld 147’s without issue due to length. But they fit with plenty of room in these new hybrids. The window isn’t needed but I guess it’s nice to have. will post pics later if I think about it to show the diff

Here is a side by side showing the over all size and figment of the eld 147 factory loads(oal of 71mm) and how they almost touch the all poly mag. Tried to get the same angle in both pics. Both mags have 5rds in and in the window of the hybrid doesn’t show any rounds till the 6th when the bottom plate begins to come into sight at the top of the window. Can also confirm mdt’s sa mag loader will work with hybrid but not as good of fit
Internal oal of mags
Poly 71.5mm
Hybrid 73.5mm
steel w/ binder plate 75mm

received my 2 end of last week, both work and feed perfectly through an AI and KRG whiskey 3.

they also allow excellent function of the controlled round feed with my nucleus. something that some other mags havent done well or at all.

anyone know where to get +2 mag extensions for these yet?
