Make it a point to. Damned few of that sort around these days.
I watched the ceremony on Fox, I don't know if the MSM covered it. I doubt it. It was just the right antidote to the frustration I was experiencing at the time.
Our VFW has just recently opened back up part-time, and is struggling. My Granddaughter is a bartender there, and occasionally mentions softly that sometimes she feels like she's the only one working there. Not exactly true, but not exactly false, either.
We put on a ceremony/presentation there last night remembering 9/11. The Auxiliary did an outstanding job of it, and our turnout was the most folks I've seen in the place since the reopening.
We're just not getting the word out about being open and what we're up to. I'm gonna take a try at bringing a newsletter up and running.
At this point, anything helps. The local VFW/Legion Vet Riders units have been good supporters of our reopening.
