It seems these days some people skate through their daily life and forget where we are and how we got here. Today is that very special day that we remember those that gave and lost so that we may survive. Here is my cousin Max's story. Remember their sacrifice and the thousands of others that made it possible for us to be here today:

"Mrs. Voelz, we're sorry for the loss of your husband." Not entirely untrue, yet also a trick of military incompetence.

To defend a free people is an inherently moral act. There is nothing proportionate between a bomb disposal technician and a live IED. If there is a God, and I think there is one, then there's a special place in heaven for her and people like her.

As a bomb tech myself (civilian LE) I have special feelings for my brothers and sisters, My prayers go out to the family.
