    MeOpta ZD 1-4x22mm Rifle Scope:

The MeOpta ZD’s Size, Weight, and Reticle worked really well on my Pre Band 16” Bushmaster.

The MeOpta ZD sits in a AMD Scout mount. This ADM mount was rock solid making more of a fan.

I have heard rumors that the MeOpta ZD holdover reticle is not setup correctly, form what I have seen this is that is not case. I found this scope to be very effective form pointblank range 10yds and out to 600yds. I was told the RET was a BDC but after looking at it more closely it looks to be setup in 2moa or even close to 1/2mil increments.

Over view of what is new about the ZD.
    · Holdover points,
    · Improved turret adjustment
    · Turret caps that are tethered to the scope
    · More compact, still able to keep the daytime illumination without a tinted glass.

Here is a photo of the older MeOpta K-Dot 1-4x you can see it’s a lot longer than the ZD.

    Re: MeOpta ZD 1-4x22mm

With all the CQBSS and S&B hype that's been going on recently, this little scope is a little gem that has been left out of the lime light. It deserves a serious look, not only is it very compact its bright daylight visible illuminated reticle makes it a very good and much cheaper contender to S&B's 1-4 short-dot.

At a $1000 it's a great buy, however I'd like to see an MLR or mildot type reticle for wind/moving targets. Instead of the chevrons and straight horizontal lines.

I here you. The chevrons work great for holdovers but it would have been nice to have something to dope the with with. Maybe they will do that on the next RET that is if they do another one.

Over all I'm really liking this scope.

    Re: MeOpta ZD 1-4x22mm

I just spoke with Meopta about the possibilities of offering a different reticle, but I got the feeling from the tone of the main marketing sales guy they wouldn't be interested in doing this unless they got deluged with requests. They seem to have a bit of a stuck in the mud attitude, which is a shame.

Sititunga1 I hear what you are saying. There are always improvements that can be made. I'm sure you understand that there is great cost involved have a reticle made. They just came out with a NEW Reticle and it work GREAT it’s a lot better than what they did have. MeOpta to me does not have a stuck in the mad mindset, they took note of what their customers are saying added a holdover points, shorted the scope, and still have a daytime bright dot.

    What was your idea?

    Note: ADDED Video.

Great review Mike - I like it!

Don't get me wrong I think the scope is great too. I'd just like to see a reticle that would allow you to dope for wind or for moving targets, which is quite important if you plan to use this scope on a mouse gun at distance. Some 1 mil striations on the horizontal bars they have on the current design would do.

I do not even notice it.
