Midway has an upper/handguard on sale for a nice price. It’s there house AR Stoner brand, billet upper I believe. I know they won’t be super nice but was wondering if anyone has had experience with them. I’m planning to make a 22 Nosler wild hog gun with it.

I built a 24" 6.5 Grendel from one just recently, but am waiting for temps to come down below 100F to fire it.

Note that it is a "Sporter" Upper, lacking Forward Assist and Dust Cover. I probably won't be "sure" on these "options" until I've run it for a few hundred rounds. Essentially, there is no Upper Parts kit required. I'm keeping a paint can lid hook handy in case some forward assist is necessary.

It's a very pretty setup, and the receiver/handguard junction includes a pin to stabilize/align the two rails. The entire Upper was built exclusively from AR Stoner parts/components. The transition from Upper to Handguard is just about invisible.

Just for S&G, I lapped the receiver face and bedded the barrel extension in red Lok-Tite.

I dropped the whole thing onto a PSA M4 Classic complete Lower.

PS, first day out, the system ran with zero failures, and with handloads, is showing sub MOA promise.

Yes. That’s the one. Seems OK so far. The bolt carrier is way snug In hoping that frees up with just some cycling. I do think the handguard is almost worth the sale price. I still need a gas block to shoot it

I got one for my wifes first rifle and I’m impressed. I like the fact that it’s a slick side upper (I’ve never had a situation where the FA was ever needed) and it cleans up the look of the receiver. Bought mine in 15” for $99.
