Question, Given a mil dot reticle, are they all in the first focal plane configuration? If not, how do I tell if one is a FFP or not? Quick and easy, Thanks.
If the size of the reticle changes with magnification, then the ratio of everything stays the same (FFP). If the reticle stays the same, then everything else changes (SFP).
if you zoom the magnification and the target gets bigger while the reticle remains the same size then it is second focal plane. but if the reticle gets bigger as well as the target, then it is first.
thanks guys. I hate getting bad information from someone you "think" is knowlegdeable (sp?) and talks a good game. Time to spend a week sifting through the posts and wrap my head around mil dots. AF doesn't teach us this stuff. But I can bring electricity from the substation to your door and light your house. Go figure.
