You can even just pick one for me, I cant make up my mind what to do.. It will be on a .22lr tainer , target gun

I was going to go with a Mueller APT, and then other member, changed my mind and made me want to go with a MIL MIL scope, Now I and really confused, I would like to stay under 400 dollars, have focus, and focus well down to 50 yards, stay in the 4-14 power range and have exposed turrets, and all I have found has been Milllet TRS 1 , and the falcon menace, and some other off brand stuff like wotac.
On the other hand I cold save some a used Leupold, MK 4 used like this one, http://www.snipershide.com/forum/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=2869446#Post2869446

Thanks for helping

What distances are you planning on shooting at? I would stay away from the off brands, especially if you are want to do competitions, Not known for there clarity and dont track the best which could ruin your day fast when shooting for points.
With good class, a 10x will be just fine for the capabilities of a .22

+1 the Weaver is what I use.

Re: Mil Mil Trainer scope, Help

I have one of the Millet scopes on my .17HMR that's mil/mil, side focus, 4-16 maybe? Can't recall of the top of my head. Works well enough when I'm out rabbit hunting. The elevation dials easily and tracks correctly, the windage knob is crooked and doesn't turn very far but you're not supposed to dial for wind anyway.

It's good enough for the task at hand since I don't dial when hunting, but it doesn't have the feel of something that would take any sort of regular use without falling apart.

Re: Mil Mil Trainer scope, Help

I don't think the Weaver or the Bushnell you guys are suggesting for him are able to focus down to 50Y. In fact, I think they are both fixed parallax scopes @ 100Y.

Re: Mil Mil Trainer scope, Help

With Bushy 10x at 50y, I had to aim like with iron sight. Either the target or the reticle will be out of focus. It's doable, and with consistent cheek weld, parallax adjustment is not that important.

Re: Mil Mil Trainer scope, Help

Bushnell 3-12 x 44 FFP mil/mil works well and has parallax adjustment down to 10 yards. Unfortunately they're a bit over your price range but you can often find used ones for around $500.

I have one 3-12 on my 10/22 and another one on my air rifle. Very good scopes overall.

Correct! This is why I cant shoot the rimfire competition targets you can print from this sight, The bug target is a total blur at 50 yards.. you just see blurry black dots.

Re: Mil Mil Trainer scope, Help

for the price weaver. I bought a Bushnell 4200 ELite for 450 a year ago when they were on discount from Midway. A great scope for the price. 30mm 3-12x mil/mil, illuminated reticle
