Rifle Scopes Millett TRS Mil Dot Reticle Error?

I have tried to search the Net and here, but really couldn't find anything.

Ran a Millett TRS 4-16x50 through the paces today, and was having problems trying to use the Mil Dot Reticle for ranging.

Compared to 2 other scopes, Leupold & Nightforce, the TRS was not reading the same. When the 2 other scopes were reading 7 Mils, the TRS was reading 6 Mils. When the other 2 were reading 2 Mils, the TRS was reading 1.5 Mils.

Anyone else had a similar experience?

I am not sure if this is just "Millett Quality", or if there is something wrong with the scope. Not sure if the Reticle could be that far out of spec? Not sure if the magnification is not where it should be?

Trying to decide if this is something that Millett might be able to fix/correct, or if it is just the way the scope is made?

What power were you ranging at? The newer TRS should be correct at 10x but I have heard of early versions being correct at 16x.

Ranging was done at 16x.

If you pulled the power down/lower, the readings were even further off.

I was wondering if the scope is showing 16x, but if it is actually at a lower power? Seems like if I could dial it up a couple more power then the readings would come out correct?

I am going to try and contact Millett tomorrow and see what they say, but was wondering if this was a common occurance with these scopes?

Very economical scopes, but not worth anything if they are going to be that far off.

If there has been an update here, I would like to know. Wanting to outfit a 22 trainer with this as a possibility. Wish Vortex had a sub $700 with tac knobs in mill.

I have the trs and do not have that problem . I do not have another mil dot to compare it to but it ranges correct. I have checked all my mil ranging with my range finder. Also you could make a 3.6 inch mark at 100 yards and adjust your magnification to fit center of one mil to center of the next mil then make a mark on your magnification ring
