Re: Mini SASS Question
As long as you float the barrel, and its a good quality barrel, it should no problem. It will also shoot 69's into a 1/4 minute or less. On an AR, the barrel is key, the trigger is second, everything else is an accesorry.
The best trick I know for shooting AR's well is how I grip it. Getting a good placement of the trigger finger on the trigger is an excercise in futility at best. you have to give up every other fundamental of grip to get the finger where it needs to be with a standard grip. You could add an after market grip but it doesn't really help as much as it costs. The solution, is simple, but will take a bit of getting used to. With a standard grip (A2 Type) grip the rifle with the bottom two fingers only, with the pinky below the finger ledge, and the next one up above it and right below the trigger guard. now drag your bird finger underneath the trigger guard and up against the top of the other finger. Viola.... you now have proper finger placement and you can use a firm controlable and most importantly, repeatable grip. This will help tremendously when you get used to it. Just because the AR is little and doesn't recoil much, doesn't mean you don't have to be firm with it. You can be much more consistant and controlled with firm techniques than a relaxed one. Just pretend its a 308 and shoot it like you would one of those. It all applies.
If you want a picture of the grip technique I can get you one, just let me know.
What are the particulars of the rifle? I had two iterations of one and spent alot of time on load development with it and tried just about everything. Its now my back up gun for Service rifle. it would shoot 1/2 in at 200 yds when all was said and done.
