Typically you see .100" of barrel wall minimum recommended. You can do 7s and 30 Cal's at 1/2-28 but it's not ideal. Much more likely to impact accuracy.
my only options are 1/2x28 and 5/8x24. The muzzle diameter is .600, so as far as I know, 5/8x24 is a no go unless I chop a ton of material off, which I don’t want to do.
A lot of times people will go 9/16-24 on thin barrels then silver solder on an adapter to step up to 5/8-24. Maximize wall thickness and get you up to a common thread pitch for the caliber.
M4 Muzzle Thread Adapter allows 5/8-24 devices to attach to 1/2-28 and 9/16-24 barrel threads on AR-15 and bolt action rifles. Great to use with a suppressor, muzzle brake, or flash hider

I’m currently sitting on one, but haven’t used it yet. FWIW I’ve had nothing but good experiences with Precision Armaments.
Anyone want to do this one for me? How much should I expect to pay? My old gun smith retired and moved to Florida where he is enjoying himself on the Gulf, fishing every day..
