I have a new Minox ZP5 on my Tikka 22BR. It is in ARC 34/28 medium rings on a 20MOA rail. The question is, why am I in the second revolution with a 100 yard zero? The second revolution indicator has been white since I took it out of the box. I have another ZP5 that I just got, but I have not taken it out of the box to look at it. A friend that I shoot with has the same scope and the indicator is black, not white.

    Thanks

Just mounted mine up today and it is the same. I am actually not all that sure how to get it off the second revolution. Might have to actually read the directions that came with the scope.

I am still gonna hang on to it for a while and see if I can figure it out. What is weird is that when I boresight it I am pretty close, even though the scope is on the second revolution. This only gives me about 13.8 Mils of travel in my scope, which doesn't seem right to me. I guess 13 MILs gets me out to around 1400 with the rifle I have the scope on, but I would think you would need to start out at the "bottom" of the travel range, not midway through...

Did you reset zero on the turrets? You say you have 13 mils vertical travel - so, at zero, the scope is just a bit above center on elevation travel. I don't own a ZP5, so I can't check on my own scope or anything, but it sounds like maybe the turrets weren't reset back to true zero somehow?

"To set the knobs to zero after zeroing your rifle, slightly loosen the screws with a 2 mm allen key. About
half a turn should be enough. Turn the knobs to the
zero position (the indicator windows must be black).
Tighten the screws only hand-tight. It is advisable
to hold the shorter end of the key to avoid too much
    torque when tightening the screws."

Basically, if it came from the factory with zero set so that with the black indicator showing and the turret set to zero (ie, turrets at first rev 0) is at bottom of elevation travel, you could get to this state. It would basically allow you to zero the scope the first time without having to loosen the turrets to dial under the zero stop, but if you had to dial up enough to zero, it'll be showing the second rev indicator. When you reset zero, in theory, loosening the set screws and then turning the turrets all the way back to first rev zero (and then retightening the screws) should cause the indicator to go away and also reset the zero stop correctly.

This might not be helpful, but without assuming you're familiar with these issues, this might be what you're seeing?

I tried doing that, still can't get the thing to come off the second rev indicator. There is also a piece in the instructions that mentions loosening the allen screws, moving the turrets UP and then dialing back. I still hit a hard stop before it comes off the second revolution. There is two small torx screws under the turret cap, but I am assuming they don't want you messing with those since there isn't a torx bit that comes with the scope...

Sounds like a call to customer service is your next step - and yeah, I wouldn't touch those torx screws unless you want it to make a round trip to the service department... ha ha...

Set turret to zero. Loosen Allen screws, dial up 10 Mils, tighten screws, dial down ten miles, rezero.

If you have a zero MOA scope base you will likely wind up zeroed at around 14 mils, or halfway through the available travel on the turret.

If you have a 20 moa base that should buy you an extra 6 mils so plan on about 20 mils of up from zero.

You may get all 28 depends on where you get zeroed.

On my scope, there is a little half moon shape lever in the housing, this has to be in the correct position to make the second rev indicator "go away". It is actually explained in the directions on the scope, complete with a diagram. It says to use a little screwdriver to adjust, but I just used the small knob in the turret cap to get it in the right position. You can only move the lever one way, the turret will stop if you are on the wrong side of the lever. Should be all good to go.

The second rev indicator lever inside the turret needs to be tripped or turned off. Can’t remember exactly what needs to be done to it. But that’s your issue.

    See these.

This worked for me also. I tried a small screwdriver, but it felt like I was going to break something.

Did this after I got the rev indicator in the right position. Looks like i should have close to 22.5 mils for my little 22BR and 6.5 Creed switch barrel.

They must have assembled this one on a Monday. Need to pull the other one out and check it out. It is going on my 223.

Thanks for all the help and suggestions guys.

It’s a QC check to ensure the 2nd rev indicator works. They don’t reset it though prior to shipping. I had to reset mine. Many others in the hide had to as well. It’s why there are directions in the manual on how to do so.
