is there any way to eliminate or atleast reduce the effects of a mirage. like today i was looking through my scope at about 200 yards and a wicked mirage was happening. it wasnt even hot only about 55 or so. its very anoying over fields and open areas.

Re: mirage

Mirage is your friend bro. Learn to use it to your advantage. You can determine how the wind is acting. The answer it your question is no. Even the most expensive optics have mirage and its not necessarly a bad thing.

Re: mirage

If you have a variable power scope and you are having a hard time observing your target, slowly power down and (depending how bad the mirage is and how low power your optic will go) it will probably appear to lessen or it might even go away. But like the rest of the guys have already said, you can use mirage to your advantage to determine wind speed and direction...........
