Just got my YHM Mite and already have to sent it back to the factory. After firing about 75 rounds through it, I went to unscrew the can from the rifle. Well after I got the can off, I went to take the baffles out. It was at this time I noticed that the adapter that screws onto the barrel stayed on the barrel. So I was like WTF??!!
Now I didnt know which end screwed into the can. The threads were the same, but I wasnt sure.

I called YHM up, told them what happened and they said that the barrel adapter is NOT supposed to come off and I needed to mail the Can back to them.
I was thinking maybe some loctite and call it a day. But i didnt go that route. I sent it back to YHM apart and dirty lol.

Has anyone else ran into this issue? If so, what did you do about it?

Re: Mite Trouble?

I was thinking about that Bolt lol! But then I saw some reddish residue on the threads. I was thinking maybe there was Loctite on there from the factory that gave up.. There were some hot strings that I did fire, but Im not sure if that was the cause of the adapter to come un-threaded..

Re: Mite Trouble?

YHM was very good about solving a problem caused by others for me, and I suggest following their advice. My class III has nothing but good things to say about how they have helped him with various problems (like the Mite he sheared the threaded end of the baffle stack off, and weighed over 7 ounces when he finally sent it to them to fix).

Re: Mite Trouble?

yea, based on their reputation for CS, I didnt want to chance it and "repair" it myself, even though they are probably going to Loc-Tite it back. Maybe there is a defect in the can. I dont know.
Hopefully the turn around time is super duper quick. Just got the can 3 days ago

Re: Mite Trouble?

Umm, OK. So what other problems does the Mite inherit?

Re: Mite Trouble?

Is the Mite the quietest can out there.....no
Is the Mite the best designed can out there.....no
Does it still make grown men giggle when you shoot it.....yes

When I bought mine, I asked the dealer if he had any words of wisdom particular to the Mite. He said about every 50 rounds, take the tool and open the threads a little bit to make sure it does not become a sealed can. Have had no issue with mine. My next 22 can will probably be a Sparrow but I am not upset I bought the Mite either.

If you like loud .22 suppressors, out dated designs, a self sealing can and knowing that the people who have shot a good can say wow you gave how much for that?

Nothing

LOL

Only Yes if they have never shot ANY can, No if he is a man that has shot something that is quiet.

Just saying, it is what it is.

Re: Mite Trouble?

Called YHM up today. After having my Can for over a week, they have not even looked at it (they orginally told me turn around would be less than a week.) Not getting a warm feeling about this company. You would think that since people are waiting 6+ months to get a Can, they would expedite CS issues. Especially when a customer only had a Can for 3 days and it takes a dump..

Re: Mite Trouble?

did u have that thread grease (anti seize) on there? supposed to make dissasembly easier..

Re: Mite Trouble?

How much that cost ya? Does he have a link?

I sent mine to David Saylors at Liberty to have him put his baffle stack in....night and day better...almost as quiet as my Outback... </div></div>

Re: Mite Trouble?

2 1/2 weeks later and no can. Not even an estimate on when ill get it back now. So much for them telling me 1 week turn around door to door. Ill give them one more week, then ill mail them a prepaid shipping label to mail my can back. I've got plenty of loctite at the house..

They are K baffles and my Mite came back scary quiet in a week.
